Is it true that a man can't forget his first love?

I really like this guy but I think he still likes his first love.. I've like him for 4 years already and he's so nice to me. He even asked my to be his last dance during our JS Prom. Can I stand a chance with him? He already knew that I like him through a letter I wrote for him.
