as an aviation fuel specialist, which is to say I work with jet fuel every day, I can say, sure, go ahead ! Jet A, and K-1 are not the same exactly, but pretty darn close cousins. jet fuel will probably be more expensive than kerosene, but would burn just fine. I have used, or seen it used in everything from oil fired furnaces, to oil burning lamps, like you mention, no problems. do not confuse aviation gasoline, (avgas, 100LL) with Jet A....trying to burn avgas would be bad. very bad. big boom bad.
