Yes we live in the age of equality. I agree. But I am talking about a first date which paves the way for a relationship. Personally I like to book a table at the restaurant of the lady's choice, in a romantic location, meet for a drink first to break the ice. On a trip to the UK a work colleague told me that the guys there are incredibly tight. They rarely ask a girl out because it might involve them opening their wallet. Instead they will casually inquire "Are you around on Friday". This tactic does not comit them to booking a table or spending a dime. Instead he will wait to hear what she is up to and tag along. Better still if there is a freebie like a gallery opening where he can cadge free drinks. That is downright tightfisted. There is not greater turn off to a lady than a tighwad. Do you agree?. Equality is good, but for a first date the man has to treat a lady, it's how it should be. Which country tops the tightwad poll?. My female tells without a doubt it has to be Britain.
