RN and LPN schooling and training?
I am a 10th grade student and have been thinking about my future a lot lately. None of my family have ever gone to college, so I would be the first. I'm really excited and nervous about what I'm going to do with my life. My first choice was to major in English-I love english and writing, but I researched it and really the only kind of job you would get is teaching, and I don't think I want to be a teacher. My second, is a nurse. I like helping people and love making them feel better. So how hard is being a nurse exactly? I know they make pretty good money, but how is getting into nursing school? What kind of GPA do you need? And is it a better idea to be an LPN first, then transition to a RN? I'm not sure because if you were a LPN first you would have some experience in a hospital setting, but then I would think it would be easier to just go right for my RN. Another thing, I'm scared I won't have what it takes. Not just school wise but actual performance. I handle stress pretty well but you see....I'm one of those people who really don't have a lot of confidence in themselves. I'm scared I'll like make a big mistake, like when I go to put an IV in or something. How was your experience? How did you feel when you first started? I know the school is supposed to teach you everything your supposed to know, but I'm still pretty nervous about having someones life in my hands o.o
