My hamster is acting strange...?

when he is most active (around 9 pm) he will randomly waltz over to a corner, lay down, and hang out there for several minutes before getting up and running around. He does this repeatedly after running on his exercise wheel. Is this normal, or is it just a case of interesting personality?
